Indication

* Urinary tract infections such as pyelonephritis, pyelitis and chronic prostate infections caused by sensitive germs such as e. coli, klebsiella, enterobacter and proteus mirabilis.

* Gastrointestinal tract infections, especially those caused by Salmonella and Shigella such as typhoid fever, paratyphoid fever and bacillary dysentery.

* Infections caused by bacteria with documented susceptibility: urinary tract infections, acute otitis media in pediatric patients (when clinically indicated), acute exacerbations of chronic bronchitis in adults, enteritis caused by susceptible Shigella, prophylaxis and treatment of Pneumocystis jiroveci pneumonia, and travelers' diarrhea caused by enterotoxigenic E. coli.

Dose

*For 2 months or more:
*BW 20kg: 1 tablet
* BW 30kg: 1 1/2 tablets
* BW 40kg: 2 tablets - 14 days
* Severe infections: 2 x a day 3 tablets
* Uncomplicated gonorrhea: 2 x 4 tablets for 2 days
* Long term treatment: 2 x a day 1 tablet
