Indication

*Urethritis & vaginitis due to Trichomonas vaginalis (except for in the first trimester of pregnancy), intestinal &hepatic amoebiasis, giardiasis due to Giardia lamblia. Prophylaxiz of post-op anaerobic infections.

Dose

Recommended to be taken at mealtimes or after meals
Anaerobic bacterial infections: for serious infections, IV metronidazole is given at the beginning of treatment
Adults: 7.5 mg/kg BW every 6 hours (+500 mg for adults weighing 70 kg) maximum 4 grams a day for 7-10 days
