Indication

*Pneumonia, infections caused by Rickettsiae, urinary tract infections, bronchitis, infections caused by Staphylococcus and Streptococcus; *Patients with gonorrhea or syphilis (at certain stages) who are intolerant to penicillin.

Dose

Adults: * 250–500 mg every 6 hours, depending on the severity of the illness. Children over 8 years: * 25–50 mg/kg of body weight daily, divided into 4 doses. The maximum dose must not exceed the adult dose.
